The Results are In!

 Namaste bloggers!

Did you know that last Wednesday the New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults were announced?

Our librarian, Whaea Marianne, ran our own book awards where students from Hay Park got to select their favourite fiction and non-fiction book from the nominees. She noted that it was really interesting to see how many of our students voted in line with the judges, but as for teachers...not so much!

Whaea Marianne then selected students whose book choices were the closest to those selected in the NZ Book Awards finals on Wednesday night. Check below to see who won a prize from Tuffery Class!

Prize winners can collect their prizes from Whaea Marianne once we are back at school.

You can see the official results of the New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults by clicking here

If you didn't get a chance to vote, what books would you vote for if you could only choose one fiction and one non-fiction option?

Beat the Boredom!

 Hello blogging world!

For those of who live in other parts of the world you may not be aware that Auckland has moved to alert level 3. This means that we are back to distance learning for round 2!

We've already had 5 days at home, so for some of us we are starting to get a little bored of being at home. Tuffery Class have been working on some ideas for activities that you can complete while you are home - particularly when the boredom starts to bite!

Below is Mrs Eagleson's DLO (digital learning object) with some suggestions for activities that you can do at home when you get bored. Students in Tuffery Class have come up with some even BETTER ideas and you can check out their DLO's by clicking their blogs over here ---->

*The emoji bookmark is an awesome activity - you can check out how to create one by clicking here.

What are you doing to beat the boredom during alert level 3?

Leave us a comment below with your great ideas!

Intro to Taekwondo

Kia Orana bloggers,

The senior school had their first taekwondo session today. We learnt how to punch and have the correct stance when we do so. We also learnt about courtesy and being good towards others.

You can see more about our reflections from today's lesson by clicking on our individual blogs.

We're looking forward to next week's session! Tune in to find out what else we learn!
